Global Action Nepal
(GAN)
Unlucky in this year’s London Marathon ballot?
Looking for a place? This may be just the motivation
you need to compete in the race of a lifetime.
Athletes and / or madmen are invited to run the
world-famous London Marathon on April 26th 2009 in
support of a charity working throughout Nepal to
develop skills and create opportunities for people
to overcome terrible poverty. All that is required
is the determination to succeed plus a commitment to
raise at least £1000 for Global Action Nepal (GAN).
You will be looked after excellently well by
representatives from GAN both ahead of the event and
on the day itself.
We’ve got a limited number of places so if you’re
interested please get in touch with GAN’s Events and
Marketing Officer Lisa Gillingham on 07958586919
as soon as you can and you could be pounding the
streets of the capital next April, knowing that
every painful step will be helping people in one of
the world’s poorest countries.

Involved
There
are a huge number of different ways you can get
involved with GAN. We regularly organise a number
of fundraising events such as cultural
evenings and golf
days. You are also welcome to come to one of
our Centurion meetings for people
willing to help GAN out for just a couple of hours
per week. Alternatively, you can look at the different
ways in which you can support GAN financially,
including looking at the merchandise
we have to sell.

Resource Centre
Whether an expert with an in-depth understanding
of Nepal, or someone who has no prior knowledge,
our Resource Centre contains information about
a wealth of Nepalese issues.
Whether you want to know more about development
issues in relation to Nepal, or about its festivals
and religion, or even its geography, political
and economic history, this is the place to come.
In addition to this there is a special section
on contemporary Nepal which looks at, amongst
other things, the Royal massacre and the Maoist
Rebellion.
There are also additional resources
such as quizzes, downloads, factsheets and articles
about Nepal. click here
